Heating Coils

Designed to pre-warm solutions before they enter organ baths or single cell electro-physiological systems, these units have internal capacities of approximately 1.5, 5.5, and 10ml.

The fluid moving through the coil is rapidly warmed by the outer water-jacket, which uses the Radnoti Quick Disconnect fittings. The ends of the coil terminate in female Luer fittings that may be inserted into tubing or used with Luer valve fittings.

For optimal temperature control, we suggest the use of Radnoti Water Jacketed Flex Tube system to link an unheated reservoir to the heating coil.

Note: Although heating coils are shown in the horizontal position they are designed to be used in the vertical position.

The Radnoti 158830 5ml heating coil with degassing bubble trap combines a heating coil with a center tube degassing bubble trap. Fluid inflow is from the lower side luer slip port. Fluid travels up the coil and then joins with the center tube approximately 20mm from top. Minor air bubbles vent out the top luer port and the fluid outflow is via the bottom lure port. Designed for low volume low flow rate requirements. Radnoti Quick Disconnect Water Jacket inflow and out flow. Female ground glass lure slip connections for coil inflow and out flow and vent.

The Radnoti #158831 Heating Coil with Internal Bubble Trap 230mm length 32mm O.D. 5.5ml volume
The Radnoti 158831 5.5ml heating coil with degassing bubble trap combines a heating coil with a classical bubble trap compliance chamber. Fluid inflow is from the lower side luer slip port. Fluid travels up the coil and then enters the bubble trap. The bubble trap allows for perfusion systems to be set up either in constant flow or constant pressure configurations. With top vent, out the top luer port and the fluid outflow is via the bottom lure port. The bubble trap side compliance port allows overflow to pass to drain or return to supply reservoir thus fixing the elevation of the fluid column and allowing creation of a known hydrostatic pressure head. Alternately in constant flow modes the top vent and side compliance port are closed via stopcock and a small amount of air (top 1/3rd of the bubble trap) is locked into the chamber. The air serves to dampen pulsation from supply pumps. At the bottom coil outflow is an additional port, luer lock for placement of a pressure transducer or converted to a sampling or injection port via silicone septa (sold separately). The coil is Ideal for simple organ perfusion systems.
